Elementary School Tutor
About the role
Huntington Learning Center helps students in grades K-6 achieve self-confidence, motivation, and academic success. We support students in closing the COVID gap, re-engaging in their education, reaching their goal test scores, and moving to the front of the class academically. We offer tutoring in reading, phonics, and writing; math and sciences; as well as IEP, ADHD, and study skills support.
Responsibilities
- Tutor students in a 1 to 1 setting or across a small group of 2-4 students.
- Focus on reading readiness, phonics, reading comprehension, writing skills, and early math.
- Work with the provided curriculum and develop individualized programs for each student.
- Participate in paid training and professional development opportunities.
- Tutoring takes place in the center with all curriculum provided.
- Flexible, part-time hours available on weekdays and Saturdays during the school year, and Monday-Friday during the summer.
Requirements
- A bachelor's degree from an accredited university/college is required.
- Classroom experience and teaching certification/license are desired, but not required.
- Must be a caring and qualified professional committed to the success of students.
