About the role
The Tutor, under general supervision, performs instructional work with minimal decision-making discretion related to implementing a supplemental instructional program in an elementary or secondary learning environment that guides and encourages students to support and fulfill their academic goals. Employee performs school-based work to carry out Board of Education policies under the direction of the principal.
Responsibilities
- Adhere to all state, federal, and local laws, policies, and procedures
- Deliver educational lesson plans and instructional materials that facilitate active learning
- Monitor and evaluate student progress to address individual needs
- Provide supervision of students for the purpose of providing a safe and positive learning environment
- Perform related duties as assigned

- Knowledge and understanding of the principles, practices, and procedures of public-school system policies and technology programs
- Knowledge of federal, state, and local regulatory requirements applicable to school system
- Ability to maintain professional and emotional control under stress

- Ability to learn and use specialized tools, equipment or software related to business needs
- Ability to communicate effectively

- Ability to maintain confidentiality regarding school system business

Education and Experience
- High School Diploma or equivalent required
- Equivalent combination of education and experience

Flat Rate Hourly/Part-time, 9 months
