TUTOR - STUDENT SUCCESS CENTER POOL
Position Summary
The Tutor facilitates learning as a guide to assist the student to become a successful, independent learner. The purpose of tutoring is to increase and enhance mastery of concepts or applications of a specific course of study. Tutors integrate effective study and learning strategies to maximize the tutee's potential for academic progress.
Minimum Qualifications
- Minimum cumulative and semester GPA of 3.0 with an A or B average in course(s) tutored.
- Completion of at least 12 college credit hours.
Required Job Knowledge, Skills, Abilities
- Effective interpersonal communication skills.
- Ability to relate to students with various academic levels and needs.
Preferred Qualifications
- Prior tutoring experience.
Responsibilities
- Assist students in targeted subject areas via individual and group tutoring and/or online tutoring.
- Host workshops on selected topics including online.
- Model and encourage collaborative study strategies.
- Create and manage resources.
- Contribute to a friendly and productive learning environment.
- Meet regularly with supervisor, including online.
- Host TSI Bootcamps/Workshops.
- Tutor students in TSI subject matter in both small and large group formats.

Compensation
$12.36 – $15.45 per hour, non-exempt, part-time.
