Tutor- Math & Science - Biology (Part-time)

About the role

Support the goals and mission of the college by providing quality one-on-one and small-group tutoring to students. Follow current tutoring guidelines and philosophy, including pursuit of CRLA certification. Communicate with staff and coordinator/manager, conduct small workshops as needed, audit classes, and assist with scheduling and data collection.

Responsibilities

• Provide one-on-one and small-group tutoring in Biology (100–200 level), with required knowledge of Anatomy & Physiology (BIO 181 & 182)
• Tutor Chemistry (100–200 level) and Math (100–200 level) as a plus
• Coordinate efforts with other tutors, staff, specialists, and faculty
• Conduct small workshops and audit classes as needed
• Assist with scheduling, data collection, and other duties as assigned
• Tutor in-person (following college guidelines) and online

Requirements

• Minimum of an Associate’s degree required; Bachelor’s or Master’s degree preferred
• Teaching or tutoring experience preferred
• Sensitivity to the needs of students at all levels
• Excellent work ethic and ability to collaborate with others
• Willingness to work flexible hours, including in-person and online

Pay

$15.00/hour (Associate’s degree), $16.00/hour (Bachelor’s degree), or $17.00/hour (Master’s degree)

Schedule

Flexible hours, generally 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. or 3 p.m. to 7 p.m. for in-person tutoring. Availability may change from semester to semester. Position may continue across semesters.
