Tutor Fellow

Role Description

This part-time role as a Tutor Fellow is based on-site in the greater San Francisco Bay Area (Santa Clara, San Jose, Fremont, Hayward, Oakland, and San Francisco).

• Conducting STEM tutoring sessions for middle and high school students at their schools during the school day.
• Attending weekly expert-led tutor training via zoom.
• Attending occasional workshops and professional development opportunities hosted by Elevate.

Qualifications

• Strong academic background with proficiency in STEM subjects.
• Must be enrolled full time in a college, university, or trade school in the Bay Area.
• Excellent interpersonal and mentoring skills to inspire and support younger students.
• Commitment to providing 150 hours of tutoring and completing required training.
• Time management and organizational abilities to balance tutoring, training, and own academics.
• Passion for education and supporting underserved communities.

First Generation College Students & Undocumented Students

First-generation college students with financial need, Undocumented students, AB540 students, DACA, and students receiving government assistance are strongly encouraged to apply.
