About the role
The Before/After-School Certified tutor is responsible for providing academic, social, physical and skill development for students in specific grades/subject areas to prepare them to be successful citizens and workers.
Responsibilities
- Develops and assists students with academic exercises and class activities.
- Concentrates efforts with small groups of students and individuals, as necessary.
- Assists teacher with academic instruction and the instruction of daily routines, skills, and concepts as needed.
- Provides instructional support and reinforcement to students identified in need of tutoring services.
- Utilizes effective instructional practices, behavior management strategies, assessment techniques and directed teaching methods.
- Collects and compiles statistical data as needed for accountability and program development.
- Communicates and collaborates effectively with teacher.
Requirements
- Graduation from an accredited college or university with an Associate's Degree, or two (2) years of college (minimum of 48 semester hours).
- A passing score on the ParaPro Assessment Test.
- One (1) year of experience working with children in an educational setting preferred.
- Must possess or be able to obtain certification in CPR and First Aid.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree= 4 years plus required years of experience.
- Master’s Degree= 2 years plus required years of experience.

Pay

Schedule
At-will employment position created in connection with federal funds allocated to MSCS for purposes related to preventing, preparing for, and responding to COVID-19 which will be available to MSCS for a limited period of time. Position may be eliminated following exhaustion of available federal ESSER funds or for other reasons.
