Tutor - Before/After School Non-Certified Part Time

About the role

The Before/After-School Certified tutor is responsible for providing academic, social, physical, and skill development for students in specific grades/subject areas to prepare them for success as citizens and workers.

Responsibilities

• Develops and assists students with academic exercises and class activities.
• Concentrates efforts with small groups of students and individuals, as necessary.
• Assists teacher with academic instruction and the instruction of daily routines, skills, and concepts as needed.
• Provides instructional support and reinforcement to students identified in need of tutoring services.
• Utilizes effective instructional practices, behavior management strategies, assessment techniques, and directed teaching methods.
• Collects and compiles statistical data as needed for accountability and program development.
• Communicates and collaborates effectively with teachers.

Requirements

• Graduation from an accredited college or university with an Associate's Degree, or two (2) years of college (minimum of 48 semester hours).
• A passing score on the ParaPro Assessment Test.
• One (1) year of experience working with children in an educational setting preferred.
• Must possess or be able to obtain certification in CPR and First Aid.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree= 4 years plus required years of experience.
• Master’s Degree= 2 years plus required years of experience.

Schedule

At-will employment position created in connection with federal funds allocated to MSCS for purposes related to preventing, preparing for, and responding to COVID-19 which will be available to MSCS for a limited period of time. The position is expected to be eliminated following exhaustion of available federal ESSER funds or for other reasons.
