This vacancy is located at Bridge City Center for Youth in Bridge City, Louisiana. This position may be assigned to work at satellite locations located in West Feliciana or Jefferson parish. The incumbent will serve as a Para-professional/Tutor at Riverside Alternative High School located at Bridge City Center for Youth. This is a grant funded position.

Job Specification

The paraprofessional assists in the delivery of services under the supervision of a teacher and/or other professionals who has the responsibility for the delivery of services to children. The position involves the performance of instructional and non-instructional tasks.

• Serves as an acceptable model for students in grooming, dress and conduct.
• Accepts and makes use of constructive criticism to improve work performance.

• Notifies principal promptly in case of absence.
• Supervises the classroom when the teacher is out; assists in supervising classroom during the teacher's presence.

• Aids in the implementation of the daily lessons under the direction of the teacher.
• Aids in filing, grading, copying, as directed by the teacher or principal.
• Aids in the operation of classroom equipment.
• Completes all required paperwork promptly and accurately.
• Treats all students with respect.
• Aids in maintaining a clean learning environment.
• Completes other duties as assigned by the school principle.
