Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree or higher
• Valid Teaching Certification from the Texas Education Agency

Primary Purpose

Provide academic instruction to assigned individuals or small groups.

Student Management

• Conduct instructional exercises assigned by the teacher
• Work with individual students or small groups
• Help supervise students throughout the school day as necessary
• Keep teachers informed of special needs or problems of individual students

Major Responsibilities And Duties

• Manage learning materials and create student materials for specific lessons as needed.
• Provide instruction in math, reading, writing, science, or social studies.
• Relate positively to children and develop respectful relationships.
• Keep information about children and achievement confidential.
• Prepare lessons and reflect accommodation for differences in student learning styles.
• Use technology to strengthen the teaching/learning process where available.
• Assess student progress and report to the classroom teacher.
• Compile, maintain, and file all reports, records, and other documents required.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

• Moderate physical activity, which includes standing, stooping, bending, lifting, walking, and moving small stacks of books and other classroom equipment
