About the role

Monte Vista Independent Study School is seeking tutors to provide academic support to middle school and high school students. Monte Vista Independent Study School is an alternative educational option in Newport-Mesa Unified. Students complete coursework online, with instructional meetings weekly and have opportunities for on-site content support daily.

Responsibilities

• Provide content support in math, ELA, and other academic areas as needed
• Help students with study skills such as note taking, time management, and quiz/test preparation and review
• Mentor, motivate and inspire students to earn success in their current coursework in the independent study environment

Qualifications

Under direct supervision of the school principal.

Schedule

Hours of work vary and are flexible based on the candidate's schedule.
