About the role

We are looking for a Trainer at our Turquoise Ridge operation to engage with key internal and external stakeholders, supporting safe and responsible mining operations. Responsibilities

  • Assist in the development and implementation of training programs for competency.
  • Maintain site compliance to ensure employees have the necessary skills, knowledge, and attitude to perform tasks safely, efficiently, and in an environmentally sound manner.
  • Create and maintain accurate training records in accordance with MSHA regulations.
  • Conduct observations in collaboration with operating departments.
  • Develop training courses based on site needs, including teaching outlines and instructional methods such as individual training, group instruction, lectures, demonstrations, meetings, and workshops.
  • Demonstrate a strong personal commitment to safety, health, and training.
  • Assist in the standardization of divisional procedures, guidelines, and planned task observations.
  • Audit and review training courses, materials, and programs for continuous improvement.
  • Assist in implementing a Competency Based Training system to ensure information retention.
  • Track task training and planned task observations.
  • Maintain document control and management.
  • Plan and schedule Annual Refresher Training for all employees.
  • Facilitate new miner, experienced miner, hazard, site, and task-specific training courses as needed.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • MSHA Instructor Certification (blue card) preferred.
  • Five (5) years of experience in construction, mining, or heavy equipment industry required.
  • Proven experience working with peer groups and focus teams.
  • Ability to drive results and meet time-sensitive deadlines.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Strong leadership skills and ability to influence others.
  • Commitment to promoting safety in training and leading by example.
  • Competent computer skills, including Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).
  • Proven safe work record.
