About the Role
Total Safety is seeking a Turnaround Technician II to work under the direction of a supervisor in a plant environment. This role provides a variety of services, including inspection, testing, cleaning, maintenance, and repair of customer-owned or Total Safety equipment. The Technician will interface with customers regularly and must prioritize safety while adhering to all policies and procedures.
Responsibilities
- Inspect, test, and maintain safety equipment per manufacturer’s requirements and document service according to TSUS/customer policies.
- Assist in stocking shelves with clean, tested, and ready-to-use equipment and manage customer orders for delivery.
- Maintain work areas in a clean and orderly condition.
- Issue, receive, track, and inspect equipment using TSUS/customer-provided software.
- Effectively communicate with team members and build rapport with customers.
- Perform receipt, inspection, cleaning, servicing, reassembling, and testing of SCBA (Self Contained Breathing Apparatus) and other respiratory equipment.
- Conduct routine inspection and maintenance of breathing air regulators and reducers.
- Complete all documentation and data entry associated with inspection and repair accurately and timely.
- Perform detailed visual inspections and system functional tests, reporting deficiencies and corrective actions to the Project Manager.
- Work 12-hour shifts as required.
Requirements
- High School diploma or GED with at least 3–6 months of experience in the field.
- Successfully completed Total Safety Work Instruction training and demonstrated competence in servicing fall protection, gas detection, and breathing air equipment.
- Ability to operate the High-Pressure Loop System and High-Volume Low-Pressure compressor with limited supervision.
- Valid Class C driver’s license and proof of vehicle insurance.
- Safe driving record and insurability for Total Safety vehicle insurance.
- Ability to pass internal forklift/scissor-lift certification as required.
- Ability to obtain manufacturer’s certification if required for a specific job.
Working Environment
- Plant environment with potential exposure to wet, humid, or outdoor weather conditions and vibration.
- Customer environments with possible exposure to high pressure, chemicals, and plant traffic.
- Moderate noise levels in the work environment.
