This firm is a leading independent financial advisory firm that specializes in providing restructuring, transaction advisory, litigation support, forensic, and valuation services to lenders, companies, and investors. The firm’s senior professionals average over 20 years of restructuring experience across a variety of industries including consumer products, distribution, healthcare, hospitality, infrastructure, manufacturing, oil & gas, power generation, real estate, and renewable energy.

About the role

The firm is looking for a Director to join its growing restructuring practice. This individual will collaborate closely with the firm's Executive Directors to manage various insolvency and corporate restructuring engagements, working directly with professionals from other firms and stakeholders to achieve engagement objectives.

Responsibilities

  • Project management.
  • Analyze companies, industries, historical financial statements, and prospective financial information.
  • Utilize business, finance, accounting, and analytical skills to perform tasks including financial modeling and analysis, cash flow forecasting and management, contingency planning, transaction support, valuation analysis, and business plan review.
  • Assess the company's long-term viability and business strategy, provide recommendations, and assist in the implementation of financial restructuring plans.
  • Prepare presentations and other materials.
  • Business development and marketing the firm’s seven key services to referral sources.

Qualifications

  • 8+ years of overall professional experience in finance or accounting, ideally with a minimum of 3 to 5 years of restructuring or financial advisory experience.
  • Familiarity with the bankruptcy/turnaround process is a plus.
  • Client service experience; understanding of the consulting process and previous work in a client service environment.
  • Strong project management skills with experience managing or leading junior staff.
  • Ability to interpret the results of qualitative and quantitative analysis and develop insights and recommendations.
  • Strong expertise in financial modeling and analysis (particularly in Excel), including constructing and understanding 3-statement financial models, cash flows, and scenario analyses.
  • Strong analytical skills and ability to efficiently perform data analysis that results in useful insights.
  • Strong oral and written communication skills, including presentation skills; ability to demonstrate executive presence and structure logical, concise arguments in verbal and written presentations.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office products (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).

The following would be considered a plus:

  • Experience with statistical modeling, Black-Scholes Option analysis, spread-option modeling, or advanced quantitative models/programs.
  • Professional experience analyzing or trading swaps, options, or structured financial products.
  • Analytical or trading experience in liquid commodity markets.

Pay

Base salary of $180,000 – $240,000.
