Turf Care Applicator
Position Summary
The Turf Care Applicator is responsible for applying fertilizers, herbicides, insecticides, and other turf care products across commercial properties. This role ensures proper application techniques, regulatory compliance, and high-quality service delivery.
Key Responsibilities
Apply turf care treatments including fertilizers, weed control products, pest control applications, and soil amendments in accordance with company standards
Calibrate, operate, and maintain spray rigs, spreaders, and related equipment
Read and interpret product labels to ensure proper mixing, application rates, and environmental compliance
Monitor turf conditions and communicate recommendations to supervisors and clients
Maintain accurate service records, chemical usage logs, and required documentation
Follow all safety procedures, including proper handling, storage, and application of chemicals
Ensure compliance with Colorado Department of Agriculture pesticide regulations
Provide professional and courteous service to property managers and commercial clients
Qualifications
A high school diploma or GED
Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record
Colorado Qualified Supervisor (QS) or Certified Operator pesticide license, or ability to obtain within 90 days
Minimum 1 year of experience in lawn care, landscaping, or turf management preferred
Ability to lift up to 50 pounds regularly
Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions
Strong attention to detail and commitment to safety
Effective time management and communication skills
Preferred Qualifications
Knowledge of cool-season turfgrass common to the Denver metro area
Experience with GPS-enabled application equipment
Understanding of integrated pest management (IPM) principles
Basic mechanical skills for equipment troubleshooting
Physical Requirements
Ability to lift up to 50 pounds regularly
Ability to stand, walk, bend, kneel, and reach for extended periods
Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions, including heat, cold, and precipitation
Work Environment
This is a field-based role servicing commercial properties throughout the Denver metro area. Work involves outdoor conditions, seasonal workload fluctuations, and early morning start times. The position requires handling materials such as fertilizer and chemical containers and working with application equipment.
Compensation
$24.00 – $29.00 per hour, depending on experience and qualifications

Additional Information
This role requires travel between job sites and compliance with all safety and regulatory requirements related to chemical application. A valid driver’s license is required.
