About the Role

The Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) Product Owner serves as the primary liaison between the City’s business stakeholders and the ERP implementation team. This role is responsible for defining, prioritizing, and communicating the business needs and requirements for the City’s ERP system, ensuring alignment with organizational goals and objectives.

Responsibilities

  • Act as the primary point of contact for business stakeholders regarding ERP system functionality, enhancements, and issues.
  • Collaborate with business stakeholders to gather, document, and prioritize business requirements for ERP system improvements and new functionality.
  • Translate business requirements into user stories and acceptance criteria for the ERP implementation team.
  • Work closely with the ERP implementation team to ensure requirements are understood and delivered effectively.
  • Facilitate communication and coordination between business stakeholders and the ERP implementation team throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Monitor and report on the progress of ERP projects, ensuring timely delivery and alignment with business needs.
  • Identify and mitigate risks and issues that may impact ERP project success.
  • Provide training and support to end-users on new ERP system functionality and processes.
  • Stay current with ERP industry trends and best practices to ensure the City’s ERP system remains competitive and effective.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Information Technology, or a related field.
  • Minimum of five (5) years of experience in business analysis, project management, or a related role, with at least three (3) years of experience in ERP systems.
  • Experience with ERP implementation projects, preferably in the public sector.
  • Strong understanding of business processes and requirements gathering techniques.
  • Excellent communication, facilitation, and presentation skills.
  • Ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams and manage multiple priorities.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Certification in project management (e.g., PMP) or business analysis (e.g., CBAP) is a plus.
  • Experience with Agile methodologies and tools (e.g., JIRA, Confluence) is highly desirable.

Skills

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Visio).
  • Familiarity with ERP software such as Oracle, SAP, or Workday.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
