Responsibilities

• Perform setups and operations.
• Check material thickness for accuracy and load material.
• Check parts according to blueprints.
• Identify and solve machine alignment and cut condition problems.
• Troubleshoot minor program errors independently.
• Account for time and work completed via online computer data collection system.
• Safely operate a forklift to handle materials and complete work.
• Maintain a safe working environment by following safety procedures.
• Make routine decisions and use problem solving to resolve basic manufacturing issues.
• Report and document basic material, production and quality control issues.
• Participate in equipment preventative maintenance at the operator level.
• Ensure compliance with corporate and plant safety standards.
• Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

• Strong orientation towards quality, safety and continuous improvement.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Comeptent at basic dimensional measuring and able to quickly learn the use of precision measurement tools.
• Demonstrated competency in basic shop math.
• Demonstrated blueprint reading capability.
• Aptitude to take orders and execute the same efficiently.
• Demonstrated detail orientation, self motivation skills and ability to multi-task.

About the Role

This laser machine operator must be able to think quickly, make decisions, and have strong troubleshooting and mechanical skills. Regularly exposed to varying temperature conditions between 60-100 degrees Fahrenheit, loud noise, moving machinery parts, airborne particles, and fumes from production equipment. The most significant duties have been included in this description. Other duties may be assigned as necessary.
