TTRO Regulatory Reporting- Director
About the Role
Trade Transaction Reporting Operations (TTRO) within Operations Risk and Regulatory Control (ORRC) ensures Morgan Stanley fulfills its reporting obligations in a timely and accurate manner for specific jurisdictions by partnering with teams across Operations, Technology, Data, Legal, and Compliance. TTRO comprises Operations Run the Bank (RTB), Change the Bank (CTB), and Transaction Reporting IT teams. The primary responsibility is to drive down Regulatory Risk by supporting the implementation of new regulatory requirements, monitoring existing controls, remediating risks, and ensuring smooth BAU functioning as part of the exception management process. This includes resolving internal and DTCC rejections to improve and maintain the firm's overall reporting accuracy.
The successful candidate will join the TTRO Run The Bank (RTB) team for North America jurisdictions, focusing on OTC derivatives (CFTC, SEC, CSA), and will collaborate with global colleagues across Business Units, Legal and Compliance, Operations, and Technology to deliver Trade and Transaction Reporting requirements.
Responsibilities
- Daily monitoring and investigation of breaks and exceptions across various internal controls.
- Resolving reporting issues via manual remediation of reported attributes.
- Transformation and automation of existing processing leveraging AI, Alteryx, and Power Apps.
- Working with cross-division stakeholders (TTRO, Trade Support, Technology, and Business Unit) to investigate potential reporting issues and their root causes.
- Raising JIRAs for identified issues and prioritizing them for delivery with CTB and Tech partners.
- Reviewing existing reporting processes and control frameworks to identify enhancements and opportunities for continuous improvement.
- Identifying and delivering necessary reporting process changes to maintain compliance with evolving regulatory reporting and business environments.
- Participating in ISDA and other industry forums to understand and track discussions, following up with internal stakeholders as needed.
- Training new joiners and juniors in the team as required.
- Reviewing change solutions and testing evidence.
Requirements
- 7-10 years of experience in regulatory reporting, with knowledge of regulations related to the Dodd Frank Act.
- Product knowledge of OTC Derivatives.
- Strong analytic and problem-solving/process improvement skills, including knowledge of SQL.
- Ability to learn quickly and solve vaguely defined problems.
- Ability to develop strong relationships and personal credibility with stakeholders and understand their needs.
- Ability to excel in an environment of ambiguity by adapting behavior and work methods to adjust to multiple demands and shifting priorities.
- Strong oral and written communication skills.
- Working experience with AI, Alteryx, Power Apps, and SQL is a plus.
Qualifications
- Strong product knowledge of OTC Derivatives (e.g., FX, Commodities, Equity, Credit, and Interest Rates).
- Strong functional knowledge of the trade life cycle.
- Strong experience in MS Office (Excel, PowerPoint, etc.).
- Working knowledge and experience with data analytics tools such as PowerBI, SQL, and Python is preferred.

Pay
Expected base pay rates for the role will be between $82,000 and $133,000 per year at the commencement of employment. Base pay is determined on an individualized basis and is only part of the total compensation package, which may also include commission earnings, incentive compensation, discretionary bonuses, other short- and long-term incentive packages, and other Morgan Stanley-sponsored benefit programs.
