TTI Research Scientist
About the role
The Texas A&M Transportation Institute (TTI) seeks a Research Scientist to join our dynamic team. This position offers a unique opportunity to contribute to groundbreaking research and innovation in the field of transportation.
Responsibilities
- Overall direction and management of projects, including project planning, scheduling, and reporting
- Supervision and coordination of research staff, including mentoring and performance evaluations
- Data collection, analysis, and project reporting
- Development and maintenance of relationships with sponsors and potential collaborators
- Proposal writing and securing external funding
- Management and coordination of research assets and resources
Requirements
- Masters degree in related field with 8 years related work experience
- Doctor of Philosophy, Civil Engineering preferred with 5 years related work experience
- Special expertise in cement and concrete materials, concrete pavement, or full depth reclamation/treatment with cement
- Knowledge of technical and marketing skills, including ability to present work in professional settings
- Ability to operate laboratory equipment and drive
Qualifications
- Recognized expert in area of expertise
- Ability to manage multiple projects and deliver high-quality project deliverables
- Experience in developing and maintaining relationships with sponsors
- Ability to identify and pursue independent research funding opportunities
Skills
- Special expertise in cement and concrete materials, concrete pavement, or full depth reclamation/treatment with cement
- Strong technical and marketing skills
- Ability to network and develop multi-agency proposals
- Experience in proposal writing and securing external funding

Pay
Salary range is commensurate with experience. Final salary will be determined based on qualifications and experience.
Schedule
This position offers a hybrid remote option with two days (three days beginning September 1) in a TTI Texas-based office. Flexible work arrangements may be approved at the agency’s discretion.
