TT Stock Prep Setup Technician

About the role

The TT Stock Prep Setup Technician sets up and operates a variety of machine tools, and fits and assembles parts to fabricate or repair machine tools and maintain industrial machines.

Responsibilities

• Setup and adjust all Truck Tire Cutting, BAC/Apex bead machines equipment to specification for quality and production.
• Monitor assigned machines to maintain productive efficiency and utilize skills to reduce downtime on quality and production systems.
• Utilize electrical, mechanical, and pneumatic knowledge to setup and maintain automated systems for quality and production (Beadwire detector, 2D laser systems, KEYENCE, Dog ear detection, weight systems on BACs, and develop similar systems in PCT and Hot Prep).
• Direct other setup techs on best practices and trainings on systems in Hot/Cold Prep and PCT.
• Supervise and audit current checks on automated systems (BCID and function checks).
• Maintain accurate daily records on each machine, documenting breakdowns, changes, adjustments, and other pertinent information.
• Communicate effectively with Floor Supervisor, Lead Supervisor, and other Setup Technicians regarding malfunctions or breakdowns.
• Coordinate and perform routine scheduled MTC checks and corrections for systems.
• Perform work as directed by Lead Supervisor and/or Department Manager related to machine efficiency and high-quality production.
• Schedule critical parts and repairs of machines with PM.
• Ensure all ESH procedures, policies, and legal requirements are implemented and monitored.

Requirements

• High School Diploma/GED and 1 year Continental Manufacturing experience or 2 years mechanical experience.
• Legal authorization to work in the U.S. (no visa sponsorship available for this role).
• Adherence to safety procedures and guidelines, including wearing safety gear such as hearing protection and steel toe shoes.
• Ability to work in a non-climate controlled environment with temperature swings, forklift and pedestrian traffic, noise, and high heat.
• Physical tasks include lifting, bending, stooping, pushing, pulling, and operating machinery (comprehensive training provided).

Preferred Qualifications

• Previous manufacturing experience or an Associate Degree.

Pay

The starting annual salary for this role is $64,613. Salaries are based on candidate skills, experience, and qualifications, as well as market and business considerations.

Schedule

New hires will likely be placed on a shift that includes evenings and weekends.
