Trusts & Estates Associate Attorney

About the Role
You will support high-net-worth individuals, business owners, executives, entrepreneurs, families, fiduciaries, and charitable organizations with estate planning, probate and trust administration, tax-related planning, business succession, asset protection, charitable giving, and related private client matters. The strongest candidate will bring sound judgment, strong drafting ability, excellent communication skills, and a sincere interest in serving clients with professionalism, discretion, and care.
Responsibilities
- Serve as a trusted advisor to clients in estate planning, probate, trust administration, and related planning matters
- Draft, revise, and finalize wills, revocable trusts, irrevocable trusts, powers of attorney, health care directives, and related estate planning documents
- Assist with wealth transfer, asset protection, charitable planning, business succession, and tax-sensitive planning strategies
- Support probate and trust administration matters, including fiduciary guidance, beneficiary communication, filings, deadlines, and administration strategy
- Participate in client consultations and help translate complex legal and tax concepts into clear, practical guidance
- Support planning for business owners, closely held businesses, family entities, high-net-worth individuals, and charitable organizations
- Collaborate with attorneys and support staff to deliver accurate, responsive, and high-quality client service
- Represent clients in probate court and related proceedings when necessary
- Contribute to firm growth through strong client service, professional relationships, and business development efforts
Requirements
- Juris Doctor from an accredited law school
- Active member of The Florida Bar in good standing
- 3+ years of experience in estate planning, probate, trust administration, or tax planning
- Strong drafting skills and the ability to explain complex planning concepts clearly, in writing and in person
Preferred Qualifications
- LL.M. in Taxation or Estate Planning
- Experience serving high-net-worth individuals, business owners, or closely held businesses
- Preparation or review of federal estate and gift tax returns
- Familiarity with business entity formation, charitable giving, or business succession planning
- Board certification, or progress toward it, in Wills, Trusts and Estates or Tax Law
- A portable book of business

Pay
Base salary of $120,000 to $150,000, commensurate with experience. Productivity-based bonus that can be a significant and meaningful portion of total compensation. No origination requirement; origination and business development are recognized in compensation.
