Trust Relationship Specialist
About the role
The Trust Relationship Specialist at Regions provides general and clerical administrative support to individuals or groups in the trust department. This role involves responding to routine inquiries, creating and maintaining account documentation, and assisting with complex transactions.
Responsibilities
- Responds to routine customer and internal account inquiries, performing necessary research and follow-up
- Communicates with clients and internal partners regarding account openings, closings, asset transfers, and fees
- Creates and maintains proper account documentation and files account related material according to the prescribed system
- Processes complex Trust transactions in a timely manner
- May perform complex cash and asset distributions from account closings
- Performs standard account monitoring and notifies leadership when overdrafts or large balances are discovered
- Forecasts client cash needs and provides estimates of liquidity needed to relationship team
- Performs complex research for tax compliance and asset transfer issues
- Adheres to all internal and external regulatory requirements, standards, guidelines, policies and procedures
- Creates and organizes PowerPoint presentations and Excel spreadsheets
- Attends client meetings with Trust Officer and performs special projects as assigned
- Aids and guides less experienced Specialists
Requirements
- High School Diploma or GED
- Five (5) years Trust or related experience
Preferences
- Bachelor's degree in a business related field
- Experience in trust administration with a solid understanding of trust office processes
Skills and Competencies
- Proficient in computer software systems to include word processing, databases and spreadsheets
- Excellent organizational and customer service skills
- Excellent written and oral communication skills
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, including attention to detail
- Prior experience in trust administration is highly preferred
- Experience working in a law firm or professional services environment supporting trust, estate planning, tax, or fiduciary services is strongly preferred
- Familiarity with trust and estate documentation, tax-related processes, and regulatory/compliance requirements
- Demonstrated ability to manage complex accounts or transactions with a high level of accuracy and attention to detail
