About the role
Brighton Jones Trust Company is seeking a Trust Officer to join our team. This role serves as the primary relationship liaison between clients, advisory teams, and our South Dakota trust administration team.
Responsibilities
- Serve as the primary relationship contact for trust beneficiaries, family members, advisors, attorneys, CPAs, and other professional advisors.
- Review trust documents and account information to develop a thorough understanding of trust provisions, fiduciary responsibilities, beneficiaries, and trust assets.
- Aid in new trust onboarding, including collecting, reviewing, and organizing account documentation to ensure a smooth client experience.
- Coordinate trust administration activities, including beneficiary communications and distribution requests.
- Partner with Brighton Jones advisors and internal team members to deliver integrated trust, estate planning, tax, philanthropic, and family office services.
- Support the administration of trusts in accordance with governing documents, fiduciary standards, and applicable laws while helping identify and escalate issues requiring additional review or guidance.
- Support the Director of Estate Planning on a variety of Family Office trust and estate planning projects, as needed.
Requirements
- 3+ years of experience in trust administration, fiduciary services, private client services, family office services, trust and estate planning, or a related field.
- CTFA preferred.
- Strong understanding of trusts, fiduciary administration, and trust planning concepts.
- Exceptional client service, communication, and relationship management skills.
- Highly organized with strong attention to detail and follow-through.
- Ability to manage multiple client relationships and competing priorities effectively.
Qualifications
- Must have a bachelor’s degree.
- Must be licensed to practice in the state of South Dakota.
