Responsibilities
- Cook up probate court filings and recordings, making sure they stick to local court rules.
- Prepare probate administration documents like petitions, orders, and other necessary filings.
- Help out with trust administration and estate settlement tasks.
- Support trust and estate litigation, handling things like pleadings, exhibits, document management, and discovery.
- Write fiduciary accountings that follow California Probate Code requirements.
- Handle federal and state gift and estate tax returns.
- Assist with estate planning document preparation and execution.
- Communicate with clients, fiduciaries, and professional advisors to gather and organize information.
Requirements
- 5+ years of Trust & Estates Paralegal experience.
- A California Paralegal Certificate is required.
- Strong knowledge of California probate, trust administration, and estate planning procedures.
- Experience with trust and estate administration and/or litigation is preferred.
- Experience preparing gift and estate tax returns is preferred.
- A Bachelor's degree is preferred.
- Excellent communication, organizational, and time-management skills.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities independently.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, e-discovery, and trial preparation tools.
