Scion Staffing has been engaged to conduct a search for an experienced Trusts & Estates Paralegal on behalf of a highly respected and established law firm on Long Island, New York. This is a full-time, onsite opportunity for an experienced T&E professional seeking to support a sophisticated and growing practice. POSITION OVERVIEW:Our client is seeking a detail-oriented Trusts & Estates Paralegal to provide substantive support across estate and trust administration, probate proceedings, estate tax matters, and Surrogate’s Court litigation. This individual will work closely with attorneys and clients throughout estate administration while preparing court filings, accountings, tax-related materials, and other legal documents.The ideal candidate brings strong New York Trusts & Estates experience and can independently manage detailed assignments, competing deadlines, and sensitive client matters in a fast-paced legal environment. PERKS:Competitive compensation ranging from $75,000–$100,000 annually, depending on experience and qualificationsComprehensive benefits including medical, dental, and vision insurance401(k) with employer match, flexible spending account options, and generous paid time offOpportunity to work within an established and growing Trusts & Estates practiceSophisticated exposure to estate and trust administration, probate, tax matters, and Surrogate’s Court proceedings RESPONSIBILITIES:Assist with all phases of estate and trust administration, including preparing and filing probate and administration petitions, waivers, citations, and related Surrogate’s Court documentsCollect and organize financial and asset information, prepare asset schedules and accountings, and assist with estate tax returns, distributions, and estate closingsSupport contested Surrogate’s Court matters, including will contests, fiduciary disputes, and contested accountings, as well as pleadings, motions, discovery, exhibits, and trial preparationCoordinate with executors, trustees, beneficiaries, accountants, financial institutions, attorneys, and other parties throughout estate and trust mattersManage court filings, service requirements, depositions, hearings, calendars, deadlines, and supporting documentation across multiple active mattersPrepare, proofread, format, redline, organize, and maintain legal documents, correspondence, and physical and electronic matter files while supporting multiple attorneys QUALIFICATIONS:3+ years of experience in estate and trust administration, with hands-on New York Trusts & Estates experienceExperience preparing probate and administration petitions, estate and trust accountings, estate tax returns, and Surrogate’s Court pleadingsWorking knowledge of EPTL, SCPA, CPLR, applicable local court rules, and New York's NYSCEF e-filing systemStrong technology skills, including Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, HotDocs, and experience with estate tax and accounting softwareExceptional organization, accuracy, communication, and client service skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with attorneys, clients, tax professionals, fiduciaries, and other parties COMPENSATION AND BENEFITS:This position offers a competitive salary ranging from $75,000–$100,000 annually, with actual compensation determined based on professional experience, education, training, and skills.
