Position Summary

The Trust and Estate Settlement Advisor is primarily responsible for overseeing and managing postmortem trust and estate settlement accounts within Wealth Management, adhering to legal and fiduciary standards. This role also involves supporting the management of these accounts across the organization, communicating with various stakeholders, and promoting trust and estate settlement services.

Duties & Responsibilities

  • Effectively oversee and manage postmortem trust and estate settlement account administration, ensuring compliance with governing instruments, laws, and ethical principles.
  • Participate in all aspects of administration, including asset collection, investment decisions, and coordination with tax professionals.
  • Maintain regular contact with advisors, beneficiaries, attorneys, accountants, and other interested parties, providing updates and addressing client concerns.
  • Stay updated on Bank and Wealth Management policies, as well as applicable state and federal regulations.
  • Collaborate with Fiduciary Advisors to manage client expectations, enhance client experiences, and contribute to relationship retention efforts.
  • Actively promote Trust and Estate Settlement services to the Wealth Management, Commercial, and Retail teams through internal educational initiatives and sales activities.
  • Participate in the development and implementation of Trust and Estate Settlement Services policies and procedures.

Education & Experience

  • Requires a four-year college degree. A JD is preferred. A Tax LLM and/or CPA are advantageous.
  • Completion or enrollment in desirable wealth management designations such as MBA, CFP®, CFA, and/or CTFA is beneficial.
  • At least 5 years of significant experience in trust and estate settlement are required.
  • Experience and understanding of wealth management solutions, including investments, banking, and trust concepts, are essential.
