A leading regional law firm is seeking a Trusts & Estates Paralegal to join a busy practice. This is an excellent opportunity for a skilled paralegal to work on sophisticated trust and estate matters while serving as a key point of contact for clients, attorneys, financial advisors, and accountants. The ideal candidate will have 5+ years of trust and estate administration experience, strong knowledge of probate and tax matters, excellent organizational skills, and the ability to manage multiple matters independently.
Responsibilities
- Serve as a primary point of contact for personal representatives, trustees, beneficiaries, financial advisors, and accountants
- Manage all aspects of estate and trust administration, including probate, asset collection and valuation, payment of debts and expenses, tax filings, distributions, and estate termination
- Prepare and file federal and state estate, inheritance, and gift tax returns
- Coordinate with accountants on fiduciary and income tax returns
- Prepare and file fiduciary accountings
- Maintain accurate financial records and coordinate with financial advisors and other professionals
- Support customized family office services for high-net-worth clients
- Manage multiple matters, deadlines, and client relationships while maintaining confidentiality and accuracy
Qualifications
- 5+ years of legal experience in trusts and estate administration
- Excellent organizational, written, and verbal communication skills
- Strong client service and interpersonal skills
- Advanced Microsoft Office skills, particularly Excel
- Familiarity with accounting functions
- Experience with trust and estate administration software is a plus
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
