About the role

Responsibilities
- Review Annual Fiduciary Reports for accuracy and discrepancies, report discrepancies or irregularities on the Guardians' Reports to the Court for further action.
- Calculate and approve Guardians' commissions.
- Ensure all Guardianship pleadings, reports, and orders are entered correctly into the system and reflect current due dates.
- Review exhibited receipts, bank statements, and other supporting documentation to ensure expenditures are compliant with the Court order.
- Process new Adoption filings and attend Adoption hearings.
- Process and maintain Trust and Adoption confidential case files by typing docket information into a computerized system and establishing case files, review and enter pleadings and orders, schedule Trust and Adoption hearings, prepare and issue summonses, writs and hearing notices and index new cases and judgments.
- Afford assistance to the public and attorneys by providing information about the status of cases or Clerk's Office procedures both at the counter and by telephone, all while maintaining strict confidentiality.
- Perform cashiering tasks related to filing and Court fees in Trust and Adoption cases.
Requirements
- Education: High School diploma (or GED equivalent).
- Experience: Two (2) years of clerical, fiscal, or accounting work experience.
Qualifications
- Knowledge: Reading and applying job-related terminology, codes, policies, procedures, rules, regulations, and laws as required to exercise judgment in their interpretation and application.
- Skill: Operating a personal computer and/or laptop to perform basic data entry error-free and use a desktop scanner and printer.
- Ability: Communicate verbally and in writing utilizing proper grammar, punctuation, and spelling in an effective, patient, and tactful manner with internal and external customers, including co-workers.
Skills
- Operating a multiple line telephone and answer incoming telephone calls in a respectful and professional manner; repeat information in the correct text it was given.
- Operating a copier to make copies, fax documents and scan documents to email.
- Performing basic mathematical and accounting procedures and reviewing financial statements including intermediate arithmetical calculations and computations are done accurately.
