About The Role
The Trust Accountant is responsible for ensuring the accuracy and integrity of client trust funds through daily reconciliation, cash management, account analysis, and financial reporting activities. This role works closely with cross-functional partners to maintain accurate financial records, resolve variances, and support regulatory and audit requirements.
Responsibilities
- Perform daily bank reconciliations and ensure transactions clear correctly.
- Reconcile general ledger accounts and investigate variances or out-of-balance conditions.
- Research and resolve reconciliation exceptions, uncleared items, and outstanding checks.
- Prepare and review journal entries and month-end accounting activities.
- Track and validate customer and trust account balances to ensure funds are accurately recorded.
- Support audit requests, SOX/internal controls, and regulatory compliance activities.
- Maintain process documentation and identify opportunities for automation and operational improvements.
Requirements
- 1-3 years of relevant experience in accounting and treasury functions.
- Adaptability to thrive in a dynamic work environment, managing multiple priorities and deadlines.
- Strong account reconciliation and analytical skills.
- Knowledge of accounting principles and general ledger processes.
- Advanced Excel skills and experience with financial systems.
- Must be able to work onsite at least 3 days/week at a UKG office location.
Qualifications
- 3+ years of Tax / Payroll / Accounting / Banking or Customer Service experience (preferred).
- Strong project management skills including superior organization, planning, and follow-through.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills; highly proficient in Excel.
- B.A Degree or equivalent work experience.
Pay
The pay range for this position is $56,800 to $81,650. The actual base pay offered may vary depending on skills, experience, job-related knowledge, and work location. In addition to base pay, employees may be eligible to participate in a performance-based bonus plan and to receive restricted stock unit awards as part of total compensation.
