Truss Sawyer
About the role
Lumber Specialties, a division of US LBM Holdings, LLC, is seeking a Truss Sawyer to operate and maintain cutting equipment in the CNC/sawyer department.
Responsibilities
- Operate, calibrate and maintain cutting machines (saws and CNC) to prepare materials including truss, cabinet, roof, floor, door, or panel systems.
- Maintain inventory and flow of materials and supplies relating to assembly process.
- Inspect and ensure equipment functionality daily to prevent malfunctions and notify leader of any equipment issues.
- Interpret shop drawings and/or computerized production software.
- Examine final products to ensure they meet quality standards.
- Organize and store materials efficiently.
- Collaborate with team members to optimize workflow.
- Adhere to all safety guidelines and regulations.
Requirements
- High School Diploma or equivalent.
- Vocational training in woodworking or machinery preferred.
- 1-3 years of prior shop experience in component assembly preferred.
- Experience in operating cutting machinery preferred.
- Hands-on experience in woodworking or carpentry preferred.
Qualifications
- Ability to operate equipment such as automated saws/CNC, staplers, nail guns, routers, various saws, and a crane.
- Must be able to read a tape measure and use a hammer.
- Ability to troubleshoot/problem-solve.
- Effective communication within the team and ability to follow instructions.
- Ability to maintain a high level of compliance to quality and safety standards.
