Truck Technician
About the role
As an experienced Technician at Ohio Peterbilt, you'll be at the forefront of diagnosing failures and recommending effective repair solutions. You'll perform repairs precisely and efficiently, adhering to dealership and factory standards. Under the supervision of the Service Supervisor, you’ll work primarily on Peterbilt vehicles, receiving assignments from the Service Writer/Advisor. You’ll also interact with dealership personnel, manufacturer representatives, and customers and have the opportunity to mentor less-experienced technicians.
Staying informed about and complying with federal, state, and local regulations, including EPA, OSHA, and DOT guidelines, is crucial. Prioritize safety in all shop and vehicle activities, report any safety issues immediately, and maintain a clean and organized work environment. If anything changes in the appearance or condition of a vehicle, report it to department management immediately.
Responsibilities
- Diagnose vehicle failures and recommend repair solutions
- Perform repairs adhering to dealership and factory standards
- Work under the supervision of the Service Supervisor on Peterbilt vehicles
- Receive assignments from the Service Writer/Advisor
- Interact with dealership personnel, manufacturer representatives, and customers
- Mentor less-experienced technicians
- Comply with federal, state, and local regulations (EPA, OSHA, DOT)
- Prioritize safety and report any safety issues or vehicle condition changes
- Maintain a clean and organized work environment
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Vocational diploma or degree in diesel or truck repair
- Four to six years of related experience or training, or an equivalent combination of experience and education
- Valid driver’s license and a clean driving record
- CDL license recommended

Physical Requirements
- Regular use of hands to handle, feel, and reach
- Frequently required to stand, walk, climb, balance, stoop, kneel, and crouch; occasionally required to sit
- Must regularly lift and/or move up to 25 pounds, frequently up to 50 pounds
- Specific vision abilities include color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus
Work Environment
The noise level can vary from quiet in office settings to moderate or loud in other situations, with sudden loud noises possible.
Schedule
10:30am - 9:00pm, Monday - Friday
