Duties
- Have a strong mechanical ability, and be able to handle multiple tasks
- Perform scheduled maintenance service and advise customers on work performed and future repair requirements
- Audit work orders, inspect and test mechanical units, diagnose faults and malfunctions and repair and replace mechanical units, test and adjust units to specifications
- Identify and determine parts required for repair of disassembled units
- Inspect brake systems, steering mechanisms, wheel bearings, and other important parts to confirm that they are in proper operating condition
- Adjust and replace brakes, tighten bolts and screws, and reassemble equipment
- Road test vehicles when necessary to diagnose malfunctions or to ensure that they are working properly
- Identify warrantable repairs and document on repair order
- Strive in a fast-paced environment to ensure the fleet is well maintained, while also reducing downtime
- Work alongside our other mechanic and management to fix problems
- Perform work with safety as a priority and abiding by all safety policies and standards set out by Butler Operations
- Adhere to all company policies and procedures as set out by Butler Operations
- Perform general housekeeping duties
- Perform other responsibilities as assigned
Qualifications
- TRUCK AND COACH TECHNICIAN 310T or equivalent
- Mack Dealership background or experience with waste collections assets considered strong asset
- Valid Drivers License with ability to reliably commute
- Commitment to personal safety and safety of coworkers
- Excellent time management and communication skills
