About the role
The Spotter/Dock Loader is responsible for moving trailers from door to door and from one lot to another, ensuring all trailers on premises are checked and sealed, conducting trailer inspections per SOP-Trailer Inspection Procedures, and assisting shipping dock personnel as needed. The role includes visually inspecting and physically checking all mechanical operation of the forklift and completing OSHA-required Pre-op check sheets, while adhering to food safety, quality policies, and workplace safety.
Responsibilities
- Conduct full inventory of the yard daily to account for each truck.
- Verify that all loaded trucks have seals applied.
- Perform pre-checks on the spotter vehicle for mechanical defects.
- Move trailers from door to door based on lead direction.
- Adhere to food safety and quality policies in the workplace.
- Load trucks via forklift during slower spotting periods.
- Inspect company property for damage and report to management.
- Ensure that gates are always closed and secure.
- Check trailers continuously for contents, documents, and reseal them as needed.
- Keep radio on and accessible at all times for communication.
- Check the dock at the end of the shift and make adjustments for the next shift if necessary.
- Follow GMP Policy and Workplace Safety Rules.
- Perform other duties as assigned based on business needs.
Requirements
- Able to stand, walk, stoop, bend, and crouch on a regular basis.
- Able to adapt to outdoor weather conditions.
- Able to work in temperatures from 90 to 110 degrees with humidity levels as high as 98%.
- Able to lift at least 50 pounds frequently.
- Able to lift overhead at least 20 pounds frequently.
- Able to safely operate a forklift and electric pallet jack frequently.
Pay
$20.68 per hour
Schedule
3rd Shift: 11pm-7:30am, Monday to Friday
