Job Description
The Field Service/Truck Shop Technician performs on-site service and repair of customer vehicles, both in the field and at a RTS facility. Not Allison certified, but RTS provides online training modules and certified instructor-led training paths to obtain the necessary skills.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Follows all policies and procedures
- Must possess all abilities for Field Service/Truck Shop Technician level C
- Receives schedule of daily assignments from supervisor
- Must meet or exceed RTS/Allison time guidelines for removal and replacement
- Calibrates ECU’s and TCM’s
- Has the ability to diagnose, troubleshoot, and install Telma’s
- Electronic Troubleshooting
- Diagnostics and separation of transmission problems from vehicle problems
- Performs Allison warranty when required
- Vehicle system knowledge
- Organized record keeping or some filing may be required
- Other duties may be assigned

Education and/or Experience
- High school diploma or general education degree (GED), desired; and three to six years of automotive, truck, or heavy equipment experience and/or training, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- ASE certification desired
- Allison transmission maintenance/rebuild certifications desired
- Allison factory maintenance trained when required
- Allison factory R & R trained on all 10K products required
- Use of Allison Extranet accounts
- DOC software knowledge
- CDL Class A or B with P endorsements required
- Allison Guild Participation
Language Skills
- Good reading, writing, and verbal skills
- Strong comprehension skills
Physical Demands and Work Environment
- While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand/lift weight up to or more than 70 lbs.
- Employee may lie, stand, or sit for an extended amount of time, working in extreme weather conditions, and changing environments; may be asked to work in confined spaces.
Pay
$40.00 per hour
Schedule
Night and weekend shifts may be required.
