Truck Shop Mechanic

Responsibilities

• Maintains safe and clean working environment by complying with procedures, rules, and regulations.
• Inspects, analyzes, tests, measures, repairs and performs full or partial overhauls on any of the assemblies and sub-assemblies of heavy-duty Diesel engines and gas powered equipment.
• Determines vehicle condition by conducting inspections and diagnostic tests; identifies worn and damaged parts.
• Corrects equipment deficiencies by removing, repairing, adjusting, overhauling, assembling, disassembling, and replacing major assemblies, sub-assemblies, components, parts, or systems, such as, power and drive trains, electrical, air conditioning, fuel, emission, brake, steering, hydraulics; completes machine shop operations; makes adjustments and alignments including bearing loads, gear tooth contact, valve mechanisms, governors, oil systems, control linkages, clutches, and traction units.
• Performs basic gas cutting, brazing, and arc welding.
• Maintains cleanliness of equipment, tools, and shop on a daily basis.
• Adheres to all Company Policies and Work Rules.
• Maintains continuity among work teams by documenting and communicating actions, irregularities, and continuing needs.
• Contributes to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed.

• Adheres to and supports company quality, environmental, health & safety, and certification standards, including ISO 9001:2015, ISO 14001:2015, ISO 45001:2018, IATF 16949:2016, and ASI Certifications, where applicable.

Location Profile

The Uhrichsville facility, opened in 1985, produces flat rolled aluminum sheet. The rolling mill cold rolls aluminum sheet to a desired gauge, anneals to temper levels, and slits the rolled sheet to size. Employing more than 350 people, the facility produces aluminum sheet for building and construction, automotive, distribution, transportation, and consumer durable applications.
