Pay rate: $24.78–$27.53 per hour
Shift: 2nd (2:00 PM – 10:30 PM) or 3rd (10:00 PM – 6:30 AM)
Responsibilities
- Perform a variety of duties relating to the upkeep and maintenance of Company transportation equipment, including fueling and washing tractors and trailers.
- Check all fluid levels, lights, and tires; change oil, filters, and tires; lube equipment; and perform other minor repairs that do not require a certified mechanic’s knowledge.
- Complete required paperwork according to Company policy and guidelines.
- Input information into the on-board computer systems.
- Drive tractors from fuel lane to fuel island and perform duties on the checklist while on the fuel island.
- Follow Company procedures and ensure a safe work environment.
- Perform all job duties with honesty and integrity.
Skills & Physical Requirements
- Ability to reach, lift, and work on objects weighing up to 100 pounds.
- Ability to push and pull heavy equipment.
- Manual dexterity, overall coordination, and good balance to work at ground level and high places.
- Ability to stand, walk, and work in close quarters, prone and awkward positions for lengthy periods; drive truck tractors and 53-foot or doubles combination semi-trailers; operate heavy garage repair equipment; and work on ladders.
- Mental alertness and good vision to ensure safe and accurate completion of work activities.
- Exposure to hazards from equipment, work areas, tools, welding equipment, presses, and other power equipment.
- Exposure to large amounts of water and cleaning solvents when washing trucks and trailers.
- Work in temperature-controlled environments and outdoors in varying weather conditions.
- Apply required safety knowledge and practices.
