Truck Service Advisor
About the role
Walk-in interviews are welcome at 15587 M-60, Tekonsha, MI 49092. This Truck Service Advisor (TSA) role is based in Tekonsha, MI. The TSA provides first-rate service to customers through extensive knowledge of the products sold and services provided. Primary responsibilities include writing work orders, suggestive selling, and handling over-the-counter (OTC) transactions, ensuring every traveler is returned to the road better than they came.
Responsibilities
- Work in a fun, trusting environment focused on providing great service where customer expectations are exceeded
- Maintain extensive knowledge of the products sold and services provided
- Use strong suggestive selling skills to help generate revenue
- Influence in a professional manner while displaying high integrity
- Write, detail, and process (pay out) Work Orders and OTC transactions
- Properly write up an ETA Work Order
- Secure Purchase Orders
- Prepare and communicate quotes to customers
- Source parts from outside vendors and coordinate delivery
- Prepare end-of-shift drop and shift report
- Understand various payment types
- Maintain the safety of both customers and team members
Physical Demands
- Regularly required to talk and hear
- Occasionally required to stand, walk, kneel, stoop, bend over, crouch, crawl, climb, and perform repetitive use of legs
- Occasionally required to lift up to 50 lbs and/or move heavy objects
- Specific vision abilities required: close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus

Work Environment
While performing these duties, the employee may be exposed to outdoor elements in all seasons. Occasionally exposed to fumes and particles, moving mechanical parts, and vibration. The noise level can be loud at times. May be exposed to dirt, dust, grime, grease, oil, gas, and high-concentrated cleaning solutions.
Requirements
- A dedicated individual who works well with others and is excited to be part of the team
- High School Diploma or GED
- Good verbal and written communication skills
- Previous cashier and customer service experience; experience in a repair or parts shop preferred
- Strong suggestive selling skills
- Basic computer skills
- Ability to work flexible hours including nights, weekends, and some holidays in interior and exterior conditions
- A valid driver's license
