Responsibilities
- Perform preventative maintenance on diesel trucks, trailers, and support vehicles
- Diagnose and repair diesel engines, transmissions, brakes, steering, suspension, hydraulic, electrical, and air systems
- Complete inspections and identify potential mechanical issues before failures occur
- Troubleshoot mechanical and electrical problems using diagnostic equipment
- Perform emergency repairs to minimize equipment downtime
- Maintain accurate maintenance records and work orders
- Ensure all repairs meet DOT regulations and company safety standards
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment
- Communicate repair needs and equipment status with supervisors and drivers
- Assist with other fleet maintenance projects as needed
Requirements
- Experience as a diesel or heavy truck mechanic
- Strong knowledge of diesel engines, hydraulics, electrical systems, air brakes, and heavy-duty truck maintenance
- Ability to diagnose and repair mechanical failures efficiently
- Experience using diagnostic software and repair tools
- Ability to read service manuals and repair schematics
- Valid driver's license required; CDL preferred or willingness to obtain one
- Welding and fabrication experience is a plus
- Able to lift up to 75 pounds and work in shop and field environments
- Must pass a pre-employment drug screening
- Must possess your own tools
