Truck Mechanic

Responsibilities

• Perform preventative maintenance on diesel trucks, trailers, and support vehicles
• Diagnose and repair diesel engines, transmissions, brakes, steering, suspension, hydraulic, electrical, and air systems
• Complete inspections and identify potential mechanical issues before failures occur
• Troubleshoot mechanical and electrical problems using diagnostic equipment
• Perform emergency repairs to minimize equipment downtime
• Maintain accurate maintenance records and work orders
• Ensure all repairs meet DOT regulations and company safety standards
• Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment
• Communicate repair needs and equipment status with supervisors and drivers
• Assist with other fleet maintenance projects as needed

Requirements

• Experience as a diesel or heavy truck mechanic
• Strong knowledge of diesel engines, hydraulics, electrical systems, air brakes, and heavy-duty truck maintenance
• Ability to diagnose and repair mechanical failures efficiently
• Experience using diagnostic software and repair tools
• Ability to read service manuals and repair schematics
• Valid driver's license required; CDL preferred or willingness to obtain one
• Welding and fabrication experience is a plus
• Able to lift up to 75 pounds and work in shop and field environments
• Must pass a pre-employment drug screening
• Must possess your own tools
