Truck Mechanic

Position Summary

We are seeking an experienced Truck Mechanic to join our team in Houston, TX. This role is focused on maintaining and repairing fleet trucks, performing preventive maintenance, and ensuring vehicles remain safe and operational.

Key Responsibilities

• Perform preventive maintenance (PM) services, including oil changes, lubrication, filter replacements, and safety inspections.
• Diagnose and repair truck systems, including: Engines, Transmissions, Drivetrains, Brakes, Suspensions, Steering systems, DEF systems, Electrical systems.
• Repair or replace tires, wheels, hubs, and brake components.
• Service and repair trailer systems, including air lines, lighting, landing gear, and doors.
• Inspect vehicles and identify maintenance needs before they become major issues.
• Communicate major engine or component failures to management and assist in coordinating third-party repair vendors when required.
• Complete welding and light fabrication work as needed.
• Maintain accurate maintenance and repair records.
• Follow all company safety procedures and industry regulations.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of experience as a Truck Mechanic, Fleet Mechanic, or similar role.
• Strong knowledge of truck maintenance and repair procedures.
• Experience performing PM services and general fleet maintenance.
• Ability to diagnose mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic, and electrical issues.
• Welding and fabrication experience preferred.
• Ability to lift equipment and work in a shop environment.
• Valid driver's license required; CDL is a plus.
• Strong communication and problem-solving skills.

Preferred Skills

• Experience maintaining medium- and heavy-duty trucks.
• Familiarity with trailer repair and maintenance.
• Ability to work independently and prioritize multiple repair needs.
