Truck Installation and Yard Logistics Specialist
Position Summary
The Vehicle Logistics Coordinator is responsible for managing inbound and outbound vehicle logistics operations to ensure accurate tracking, timely processing, and efficient workflow across multiple customer accounts.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Cook up and move vehicles, mostly medium- and heavy-duty trucks, safely within the yard and for short delivery/maintenance tasks, as needed.
- Process inbound vehicles including inspections, photo documentation, and recordkeeping.
- Aid in undecking and support drivers during unloading.
- Inspect and document transportation damage and coordinate claims resolution.
- Maintain records in Epicor including VIN tracking, chassis updates, and scheduling.
- Prepare Bills of Lading and manage outbound documentation using Adobe Sign.
- Stage and position vehicles for standard and after-hours pickups.
- Maintain accurate inventory records for inbound and outbound vehicles.
- Organize vehicles and keys by customer and build number.
- Collaborate with production, scheduling, and accounting teams.
- Cook with transportation vendors to ensure alignment on shipments.
- Manage complex paperwork ensuring accuracy and compliance.
- Support purchasing by managing materials and ordering OEM parts.
- Ensure legal requirements are met; verify that all documentation is correctly, accurately and timely completed.
Required Qualifications
- 2+ years experience in logistics, yard operations, truck repair and modification or manufacturing.
- Experience operating or moving medium/heavy duty trucks preferred.
- Strong attention to detail with documentation accuracy.
- ERP system experience (Epicor and SAP preferred).
- Valid driver's license required.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience in fleet, logistics, or manufacturing environments.
- Familiarity with transportation vendors.
- CDL Class A license preferred.
Physical Requirements
- Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds regularly, unassisted and 75 pounds assisted.
- Ability to enter, exit, and operate medium- and heavy-duty trucks.
- Ability to stand, walk, bend, and climb for extended periods.
- Ability to work in outdoor yard and shop environments.
- Ability to work safely around moving vehicles and equipment.
Work Environment
Work is performed in office, yard, and shop environments with regular interaction with drivers, vendors, and production teams.
