About the role
The Truck Fueler reports directly to the Fleet Maintenance Supervisor and is responsible for the operation and refueling of all vehicles returned to the yard on a daily basis. The role involves tracking, monitoring, and measuring fuel dispensed into each unit while maintaining accurate nightly records to ensure timely refueling.
Responsibilities
- Fuels all vehicles returned to the yard on a daily basis.
- Operates vehicles in accordance with OSHA, DOT, and all local, state, and federal requirements.
- Tracks, monitors, and measures fuel dispensed into each unit.
- Maintains accurate nightly records to ensure all vehicles are fueled on time.
- Follows Athens Services Safety Rules for safe operation.
- Immediately reports any unsafe situations, service calls, incidents, accidents, injuries, or property damage to the Fleet Maintenance Supervisor.
- Participates in all scheduled training, briefings, and safety meetings as required by the company.
- Uses standard tools and resources provided by the company.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
Requirements
- High School Diploma or GED.
- Valid Class A or B Driver’s License.
- 1+ years of experience operating a commercial vehicle.
- Basic math skills (addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division).
- Ability to meet all DOT requirements.
- Capable of performing the physical requirements of the position with or without reasonable accommodations.
Preferred Qualifications
- Bilingual (English/Spanish).
- Work experience in waste, environmental services, energy, or transportation industries.
Physical Demands
- Standing, walking, seeing, hearing, and smelling continuously.
- Problem-solving, oral/written communication, analytical ability, concentration, and interpersonal abilities continuously.
- Eye/hand coordination, handling, and wrist motion continuously.
- Bending, reaching, and stretching frequently.
- Lifting up to 50 lbs. occasionally.
- Exposure to dust, smoke, fumes, odors, grease, oil, chemicals, wet/hot conditions, and noise continuously.
- Works outside only.
Pay
$26.54 - $26.79 per hour
