Truck Equipment Installer

About the role

Knapheide Truck Equipment Center in Kansas City, MO is looking to hire a full-time Installer to assemble, install, and customize a variety of heavy-duty work truck bodies.

Schedule

Monday - Friday from 6:00 AM - 2:30 PM.

Responsibilities

• Assemble and install equipment such as: service bodies, platforms, van packages, hoists, electrical components and circuits, shelving and drawer systems, ladder racks, and other mechanical items
• Read work instructions and installation directions
• Gather materials and properly assemble equipment
• Test performance before delivering units to a final audit

Requirements

• High School Diploma or GED Equivalent
• Ability to lift and/or move up to 50 pounds
• Basic mechanical aptitude

Preferred Qualifications

• Previous work in an assembly environment
• 2 years or more as a mechanic in a professional setting
• 2 years or more experience in the truck equipment industry or similar industry
• Previous experience working against timed job standards and a proven record of being able to meet completion standards
• Attention to detail in every aspect of the job
• Able to maintain a neat, clean and organized work area
• 1 year or more in MIG welding
• 1 year or more with installing snow equipment (snow plows and salt spreaders)
• 1 year or more installing liftgates
