Truck Driving Instructor

About the role

Assist in providing instruction for students in the basic principles of truck driving, including operating procedures, proper pre-start procedures, basic preventative maintenance, and safe operating practices. Instruction is intended to produce safe, entry-level drivers.

Responsibilities

• Ensure safety of participants and others in projects and work areas.
• Maintain a safe, clean work environment.
• Perform preventative maintenance and field repairs; discuss major repairs with supervisor.
• Communicate effectively with diverse student populations and fellow employees.
• Remain calm in stressful situations.
• Work independently with minimal supervision.

Requirements

• Class "A" CDL with current medical certificate.
• Dbl/tr, tank, and Hazmat endorsements preferred.
• Minimum of 2 years of verifiable driving experience (5 years preferred).
