About the role
The role involves safely operating a 16'-'18' box truck to complete residential pickup routes, handling various household items, and adhering to DOT, OSHA, and Savers safety regulations.
Responsibilities
- Safely maneuver and operate a 16'-'18' box truck through residential streets and tight spaces
- Pick up clothing, small furniture, and other household items from daily residential routes
- Complete daily paperwork including vehicle inspections, delivery reports, and maintenance forms
- Avoid any violations or accidents within the last three years
- Ensure trucks are clean, swept, and ready for use at the start of another shift
- Communicate with the general public, respond to official inquiries, and make entries on reports and records
- Multi-task with minimal direction, set priorities, meet deadlines, and handle multiple incoming and outgoing truck loads at any one given time
- Interpret instructions and set priorities, meet deadlines with flexibility, and multi-task with minimal direction
Requirements
- Working knowledge of the assigned metro areas
- Working knowledge of DOT, OSHA, state, and Savers safety regulations and requirements
- Demonstrate professional interpersonal relationship skills
- Demonstrate strong customer service skills
- Demonstrate skills showing initiative, personal responsibility, and accountability
- Prior driving experience, excellent knowledge of the roads in assigned area
- Strong working knowledge of managing two-way communications and operating GPS tools
- Demonstrate organization skills
- Ability to operate a 16'-'18' box truck independently
- Ability to complete a high volume of stops daily
- Ability to communicate orally and in writing
- Ability to set priorities, meet deadlines with flexibility, and multi-task with minimal direction
- Ability to be detail-oriented
Qualifications
- Minimum age requirement: 21 years old
- Valid driver's license
