Truck Driver - Plainfield

About the role

Responsible for loading, transporting, and delivering/unloading IU Health supplies and equipment to various IU Health facilities via Box truck. Responsible for same-day routes/deliveries. Ensures trucks are prepared for departure and delivered on time. Assists with analyzing routes for delivery optimization. Inspects vehicles for potential safety concerns prior to departure. Maintains thorough delivery log documentation. Uses a Warehouse Management System or ERP Software to perform cycle counts, picking, put away, and shipping functions. Prepares bill of lading. Reports quality and safety concerns in a timely manner. Troubleshoots issues real time for resolution and escalates concerns.

• Inspects vehicles for safety concerns before departure.
• Maintains thorough delivery log documentation.
• Uses a Warehouse Management System or ERP Software for cycle counts, picking, put away, and shipping functions.
• Prepares bill of lading.
• Reports and escalates quality and safety concerns.
• Troubleshoots issues in real time for resolution.
• Trains team members on routes and safety checks.
• Captures vehicle preventive maintenance schedules and maintains maintenance records.

Requirements

• Previous driving experience strongly preferred.
• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Valid Indiana drivers license required.
• Material Handling Safety Training certification required within 2 weeks of hire date.
• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds from floor to waist, 20 pounds from waist to over-the-head routinely, and 25 pounds continuously.
• Long periods of standing required.

Qualifications

• 5-7 years of related experience required.
• Experience in Microsoft Outlook, Word, and Excel required.
• Experience operating manual and motorized material handling equipment required.
