Duties and Responsibilities

  • Meeting preparation, set up, attendance, and transcription
  • Heavy public contact via telephone and in-person, including accurately directing inquiries and answering department-related technical questions
  • Preparing reports, documents, charts, graphs, and presentations using Microsoft 2003 Word, Excel, and Power Point
  • Inquiries and data entry into Access XP custom database
  • Scheduling meetings
  • Filing
  • Copying
  • Equipment use and maintenance
  • Research and special projects

Education, Experience, Licensing

  • Graduation from high school and four years of experience in public relations, customer service or clerical field
  • The ability to type 45 wpm on a typing test administered by Lee County Human Resources
  • Possession of a valid Florida driver's license with an acceptable driving record
  • The ability to pass a criminal background check

Supplemental Information

  • Demonstration of computer related, written and verbal communication abilities in a timed simulation
  • Attendance at evening meetings
  • Spanish Language Skills preferred

Work Hours and Days

  • Monday - Friday 8:00 a.m. - 5:00 p.m.
  • Evening meetings are required

Emergency Response/Recovery Activities

  • All County employees are required to work before, during, or after an emergency as needed
