About the Role
As a Truck Driver, you will monitor the sewage system and operate a diesel tank truck, ensuring safe loading and unloading. You will perform daily visual inspections of the system, assist in maintaining pumps and plumbing, and conduct skilled maintenance and repair work on automotive engines and related equipment. Your role includes diagnosing engine problems, coordinating repairs with the engineering team, and performing preventative maintenance in line with technical manuals and company policies.
Responsibilities
- Monitor the sewage system and tanks during summer operations, including daily waste disposal runs and tank level monitoring.
- Perform routine and light-duty repairs on gasoline engines, such as brakes, belts, starters, and alternators.
- Operate hand and power tools for automotive engine and equipment repair.
- Recommend and assist in purchasing parts and supplies for vehicle maintenance.
- Maintain inventory of engine parts and auxiliary systems (e.g., pumps, starters, belts, impellers, filters, gaskets).
- Assist in the maintenance of company vehicles, trucks, forklifts, and other equipment.
- Log all completed work on work orders and in Slack.
- Collaborate with the Port Engineer to maintain facility organization and assist with Bima maintenance and projects.
- Support the engineering team with daily errands and tasks as needed.
- Participate in special projects as assigned.
Requirements
- Class B CDL with Tanker endorsement.
- Analytical skills and aptitude for problem-solving.
- Good manual dexterity and hand-eye coordination.
- Valid U.S. driver’s license with a clean driving record.
- Ability to pass a security background check and DOT drug test.
- Valid, unexpired USCG-approved First Aid/CPR certification.
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous experience driving a tanker truck.
- Two years of direct experience with automotive engines.
