About the Role

Drives gas or diesel powered trucks to perform pick-up and delivery tasks based on daily assignments from Dispatcher.

Responsibilities

  • Drive trucks under 3,000 lbs. to destinations using maps and instructions.
  • Operate vehicles on and off government installations in light to heavy traffic.
  • Transport HAZMAT as required for depot missions.
  • Inspect trucks for defects before and after trips.
  • Monitor vehicle performance and report maintenance or repair needs to Dispatcher.
  • Secure loads to ensure safe and undamaged arrival.
  • Communicate via radio or cellular phone for directions and updates.
  • Assist in loading and unloading transported materials.
  • Perform daily preventive maintenance and adjustments on trucks.
  • Complete other position-related duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED required.
  • Minimum six months of general experience.
  • Minimum six months of specific experience demonstrating required knowledge (may substitute one year of experience for one year of high school education).
  • Must obtain and maintain a valid operator’s license for assigned equipment within 30 days of selection.
  • Must be able to obtain and maintain a Secret Security Clearance.
  • Must meet all Federal and State requirements for the role.

Physical Demands

  • Regularly required to sit; frequently required to climb or balance.
  • Occasionally required to stand, walk, reach, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl.
  • Must frequently lift and/or move up to 25 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 60 pounds.
  • Requires close, distance, and peripheral vision, as well as depth perception and ability to adjust focus.

Pay

Hourly rate: $20.36 (overtime-eligible). Additional health and welfare payment may apply per the Service Contract Act (SCA) based on hours worked and fringe benefits selected.
