About the role
Job Title: Truck Driver
Department: Focus: HOPE Food
Reports To: Central Warehouse Manager
FLSA Status: Non-Exempt
Responsibilities
- Report to the Central Warehouse Manager for daily assignment of deliveries.
- Complete and submit inspection sheets and log sheets as required.
- Maintain listing of emergency numbers, procedures and contacts in vehicle.
- Transport food boxes to participating agencies.
- Assist in Central Warehouse when there is no driving assignment.
- Report any delays in loading or unloading immediately to management.
- Maintain State of Michigan and Focus Hope daily and periodic maintenance truck logs.
Requirements
- Strong commitment to human and civil rights.
- Favorable driving record.
- Michigan CDL endorsement Group (B) and all proper Michigan medical certifications required.
- Knowledge of proper lifting procedures and ability to lift 35 pounds as needed.
- Oral and written communication skills.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite or related software.
- Proficient in Outlook.
- Ability to interact with staff, students, parents, and visitors at school while remaining professional, polite, and courteous.
Qualifications
- High school graduate or its equivalent.
- Three to five years over the road experience preferred.
