About the role
The Truck Driver I position at Rexel USA in Tooele, UT involves delivering products to customers, company branch/warehouse locations, and company suppliers. This role requires the driver to prepare deliveries efficiently, ensure materials are correct and undamaged, and maintain company vehicles.
Responsibilities
- Inspect company vehicle for visual and operational defects; complete a daily inspection report
- Keep company vehicle clean, serviced, and maintained; alert supervisor of repair or service needs
- Load or unload vehicle and verify material correctness (quantity and type) and absence of damage before departure
- Ensure all appropriate documentation is completed at the time of delivery, including signing the delivery receipt, packing list, and branch/warehouse manifest
- Pick up material returns from customers; inspect material condition and verify quantities and catalog numbers
- Pick up material from company suppliers
- Assist in preparing orders for delivery
- Perform other job functions as required
Qualifications
- In lieu of experience, must attend company driver training
- Valid driver's license
- At least 21 years of age
- Pass a pre-employment and annual review of the Motor Vehicle Record
- Obtain verification of non-expired medical certificate as required by law within 60 days of hire
- No suspended driver's license for a traffic accident/violation within the past 3 years
- No at fault accidents in the past 3 years
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
- Handle loads with a combined weight not to exceed 26,000 GVW
- Handle basic issues and problems
- Strong knowledge of safety regulations and familiarity with traffic and driver laws
- Willingness to adhere to assigned routes, schedules, safety procedures, and transportation laws
- Excellent organizational and time management skills; ability to meet deadlines
- Excellent customer service skills
- Good attention to detail
- Able to meet deadlines
- Able to work overtime as needed
