Truck Driver-1

Responsibilities

• Drive a vehicle with a capacity greater than 26,000 GVW to pick up or deliver goods, packages, or equipment
• Load or unload contents of the vehicle as required
• Follow directions from supervision and crane operators
• Aid in assembly/disassembly under supervision of crane operator
• Serve as designated signalman to help the crane operator attach, lift, move, and set loads
• Attach load lifting devices to crane and to load in a safe manner
• Ensure the safety of all involved by utilizing safe practices
• Inspect pre-trip items on truck and trailer
• Perform routine maintenance on vehicles and equipment
• Wear required personal protective equipment while performing work
• Mentor other drivers and crane helpers
• Drive long distances to deliver crane parts to job sites on time
• Load and unload cargo
• Refuel and clean vehicle
• Report road incidents to safety personnel
• Follow traffic laws and maintain a clean driving record
• Inspect truck and record issues
• Follow accident procedures
• Keep an active log and record hours
• Report mechanical problems to maintenance personnel
• Plan routes using GPS system
• Maintain positive attitude with customers
• Aid in cleanliness and housekeeping on job site and mobile equipment

Requirements

• Valid Class A CDL driver’s license (must keep it up to date)
• Ability to pass a DOT physical, drug and alcohol screen, and 7-year background check
• Basic mechanical skills
• Flexible schedule; ability to travel and work all days and times (company operates 24/7)
• Basic knowledge of crane and rigging considerations (hitches, shackles, load angles, load weights, center of gravity, tag lines, etc.)
• Basic knowledge of assembly/disassembly of cranes and all components
